A Farm in the City

Riverglen Biodynamic Farm is a National Heritage farm owned by the National Capital Commission. It has been our responsibility for the past five years to care for its fertile, riverside soils. Once a proud dairy farm, Riverglen’s dilapidated buildings are now undergoing serious renovations. The handmade, heritage barns need a good dose of TLC, as do its fences, drainage systems, roads and pastures. As old as this very city, Riverglen Farm is a heritage site worth preserving. Your financial contributions directly benefit the future of organic and biodynamic farming in NCC’s Greenbelt.

We are very lucky to have access to land in the National Capital Commission’s Greenbelt. Being so accessible, many visitors drive down our lane to pickup their weekly boxes, visit our store or take part of workshops and special events. Open hours are updated on this website, as they may change throughout the seasons. Please drive carefully when visiting our working farm, and keep your children by your side. while walking about.

We hope you enjoy a safe and pleasant visit!

Attention: Did you know many roadside stands sell the same wholesale vegetables found at the supermarket? These operations masquerade as farmers and take advantage of your desire to eat fresh, local, top quality produce. Riverglen is a REAL FARM! All produce comes from our own gardens. It has been planted, cared for, harvested and packed by our own staff.
