Happy Equinox

On Sunday at 5pm, Sun will cross the equator and starting Monday, there will be more dark than light. Autumn is here.

Misty Morning

Light seems to do very interesting things here at this time of year as all the vegetation changes colour. We’ve already had three frosty mornings here.

Although some crops die-off in this kind of weather, many others come into their prime. We’ve started hauling in our squash and the Delicatas, buttercups and spaghettis are looking great!

We’ve put together some pricing for larger quantities at the request of several customers. Please let us know in advance so we can prepare your order.

Yellow storage onions: Can be stored for several months in a cool, dark place.

Regular price: $2.50/kg
Bushel price: $40 (20kg)

Paste tomatoes: Our two heirloom varieties, Amish Paste and Roma, are equally delicious. Use to make sauce, paste, salsa, chili, soup base and all sorts of goodies that can be frozen or canned for the winter.

Regular price: $2.50/kg
Bushel price: $45 (20kg)

Hardneck Garlic: Garlic bulbs store even better than onions. Kept cool and dark, they will last several months in your basement. Incomparable in flavour to store bought, make sure to stock up on this important food and medicine.

Regular price: $3/100g
Bushel price: $400 (20kg)

We are hoping to also offer carrots and beets in bushels, but they won’t be ready for a few weeks yet.
