Orientation for CSA members
19. May 2009 by David.
Current CSA members are invited to attend an orientation session on Sunday, May 31st at 1pm. We’d like to introduce ourselves to the group and get an impression of why you decided to join our CSA. We also want to talk about the food pickup and how that’s going to happen this year.
We’ll chat for an hour or so and those who are interested can stick around for a farm tour. If you can’t make it, we’re holding a second, shorter meeting the following Wednesday, June 3rd at 6pm. We insist that any CSA member planning on visiting the farm for pickups or otherwise attend one of these meetings.
See you soon!

‘Edible Wilds’ Plant Walk - May 23rd
7. May 2009 by David.
Hi folks,
I hope you are having a fantastic spring! The plant life exploding all around us brings gifts of colour, smell and taste. We are hard at work seeding in the garden, but many wild plants are willing to yield their nutrients without all this cultivation nonsense.
Please join us on Saturday, May 23rd for Riverglen Farm’s first event of the season. Martha Webber, a well-known Ottawa naturalist/botanist, will lead an “edible wilds” plant walk on the farm.
This is a great opportunity to learn about the natural environment of Riverglen Farm. Following the walk, we will enjoy wild tea and conversation with Martha.
The walk will begin at 1:30 and will last a couple of hours. The walk will take place rain or shine. This is a free event for all CSA members.
